Associate Programme Management Officer – Fixed‑Term (Nairobi)

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking Associate Programme Management Officers on a fixed‑term basis to support its Budget, Finance and Operational Support Section in Nairobi. The role focuses on programme and project management, ensuring that UN‑Habitat’s urban development initiatives are delivered in line with donor agreements and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide programme and project management services, interpreting UN‑Habitat policies, procedures and financial regulations.
• Monitor project budgets, conduct quality‑assurance checks and support priority‑setting on financial and budgetary matters.
• Coordinate with project managers at headquarters and field locations, implementing partners and local authorities to facilitate programme implementation.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for donor compliance and internal oversight.
• Support the Chief of the Budget, Finance and Operational Support Section and the Director of the Corporate Management Division in administrative and programming tasks.
