Consortium Manager – Lead High‑Impact Programs in Sudan

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Sudan is seeking a Consortium Manager to lead its Education in Emergencies and Protection Consortium. Based in Nairobi, the role will steer the consortium’s strategic direction, ensure effective coordination among partners and maintain compliance with donor and internal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the consortium, ensuring seamless operations and leveraging partner complementarity.
• Coordinate with consortium members to guarantee high‑quality implementation, donor compliance and accountability to beneficiaries.
• Oversee day‑to‑day project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and budget oversight.
• Represent the consortium to national authorities, donors and other stakeholders, advocating for partners’ interests.
• Lead and manage the Consortium Management Unit, including recruitment and supervision of staff and consultants.
• Design and prepare subsequent consortium phases based on evidence, donor expectations and partner expertise.
• Support fundraising efforts, develop proposals and diversify the consortium’s funding portfolio.
• Monitor partner spending and manage the unit’s budget.
• Facilitate effective communication among steering, technical, programmatic and finance teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multi‑partner humanitarian consortia or large‑scale programmes.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations, especially ECHO and other humanitarian funding mechanisms.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, reporting and compliance requirements.
• Strategic thinking with a results‑oriented approach.
