Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman to support a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role combines hands‑on crane operation with supervision of rigging personnel, ensuring all activities meet strict safety and NAVFAC P‑307 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cranes safely in accordance with NAVFAC P‑307 and other applicable standards.
• Supervise and lead rigging teams during all crane operations.
• Ensure rigging activities comply with NAVFAC P‑307 guidelines and hand‑signal protocols.
• Inspect rigging tools and equipment for condition and compliance.
• Prepare, review, and execute lift plans aligned with safety and mission readiness.
• Conduct routine crane inspections, maintenance, and safety audits.
• Provide training and oversight to rigging personnel as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating cranes and performing rigging operations.
• Certification/training meeting NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
• Strong knowledge of hand‑signal communication for crane work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass and maintain contract medical requirements for the deployment duration.
