About the role
Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman to support a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role combines hands‑on crane operation with supervision of rigging personnel, ensuring all activities meet strict safety and NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
Key responsibilities
- Operate cranes safely in accordance with NAVFAC P‑307 and other applicable standards.
- Supervise and lead rigging teams during all crane operations.
- Ensure rigging activities comply with NAVFAC P‑307 guidelines and hand‑signal protocols.
- Inspect rigging tools and equipment for condition and compliance.
- Prepare, review, and execute lift plans aligned with safety and mission readiness.
- Conduct routine crane inspections, maintenance, and safety audits.
- Provide training and oversight to rigging personnel as required.
Required profile
- Proven experience operating cranes and performing rigging operations.
- Certification/training meeting NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
- Strong knowledge of hand‑signal communication for crane work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass and maintain contract medical requirements for the deployment duration.
