Driver for Resident Office (Nairobi)

About the role

The Driver will join the Resident Office (RO) team in Nairobi, providing safe and punctual transport for authorised personnel on official duties. The role includes driving within the city, across Kenya and occasionally to neighbouring countries, as well as occasional clerical support.

Key responsibilities

• Transport authorised staff to/from airports, transport hubs, meetings and appointments.
• Operate the RO official vehicle safely under all local conditions, applying defensive driving techniques.
• Adhere to EBRD Code of Conduct, Driver Rules of Conduct, Travel Safety procedures and local traffic laws.
• Maintain the vehicle’s roadworthiness, cleanliness, and ensure required equipment (first‑aid kit, spare tyre, communications gear) is present and functional.
• Record weekly transport logs, fuel usage, maintenance and cleaning activities accurately.
• Handle clerical tasks such as mail delivery, document collection, answering phones and other errands as needed.
• Ensure the vehicle’s registration, insurance and any required local tests are up to date.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence with a clean, safe driving record.
• Professional driving experience, preferably with defensive‑driving training.
• Thorough knowledge of Kenyan traffic regulations and familiarity with Nairobi’s road network.
• Willingness to travel throughout Kenya and, when required, to neighbouring countries.
• Professional appearance and ability to follow security and safety protocols.
