Emergency Specialist – Cash Based Assistance Beneficiary Data (P-3)

About the role

The Emergency Specialist will support UNICEF’s Global Risk Management Cash Assistance Hub in Nairobi, helping regional and country offices manage personal data of cash assistance beneficiaries during humanitarian crises.

Key responsibilities

• Assist regional and country offices with the management of payment recipients' personal data, ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
• Support the implementation and use of personal data management tools for front‑line workers receiving cash incentives.
• Provide remote technical assistance and guidance to field teams in collaboration with headquarters and regional partners.
• Contribute to raising UNICEF’s profile on data protection, collection, processing, storage, and exchange for cash‑based assistance programmes.

Required profile

• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, particularly with cash‑based assistance programmes.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles and beneficiary data management.
• Ability to work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams across headquarters, regional hubs, and field offices.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to provide remote support.
