General Manager – Logistics & Regional Operations (East Africa)

About the role

This senior position leads a multi‑country logistics business across East Africa. Reporting to the Board, you will shape strategy, drive commercial growth and ensure operational excellence throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional strategy covering multiple East African markets.
• Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting in partnership with senior finance leaders.
• Identify, assess and mitigate business risks, providing strategic recommendations to the Board.
• Build a strong sales pipeline, convert opportunities and drive commercial growth.
• Represent the organisation at industry events, stakeholder meetings and strategic forums.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety (QHSE) and operational excellence across all activities.
• Strengthen brand presence and develop strategic partnerships, alliances and corporate structures to support expansion.
• Lead and develop an executive team covering finance, HR and commercial functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field; MBA or Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 15 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role.
• Extensive background in logistics and regional operations within East Africa.
• Proven ability to create strategy and deliver business growth.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience with strategic partnerships and sales growth.
• Demonstrated capability to lead diverse, cross‑cultural teams.
