Knowledge & Learning Senior Associate

About the role

Bowmans is looking for two experienced senior associates to join the Knowledge Management, Learning and Library department. The role supports either the Banking & Finance, Real Estate & Construction practice or the Dispute Resolution practice, developing precedents, tracking legal developments and delivering technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Write, maintain and quality‑review legal precedents, templates and guidance notes for the allocated practice area.
• Monitor legal developments, produce alerts and briefing notes, and advise on their impact.
• Design, deliver and facilitate technical legal training and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and respond to knowledge or technical assistance requests.
• Assist with rollout, change management and adoption of new knowledge projects and legal technology tools, including automation and AI solutions.
• Support research needs of East African offices and the wider Bowmans group.
• Maintain the physical and online library, e‑resources and training curriculum.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and lead related initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in the relevant legal practice area.
• Proven ability to identify and implement efficiency opportunities.
• Comfort with legal technology and experience collaborating across teams and jurisdictions.
• Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.
• Willingness to work flexibly in line with the firm’s flexible‑working policy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with document automation tools.
• Experience using AI‑enabled legal solutions.
