Manager, Email Marketing Strategy

About the role

The Manager, Email Marketing Strategy will lead NAR’s email channel, turning it into a high‑performing, data‑driven communication platform. Reporting to the Director of Web and Email Content Strategy, this role combines strategic oversight, governance, and hands‑on production management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the end‑to‑end email strategy, evaluating programs for member value and streamlining the portfolio.
• Set and enforce standards for email content, structure, accessibility, and ad placement.
• Design, build, and maintain marketing automation journeys to reduce manual effort and improve targeting.
• Stay current on industry trends, deliverability standards, and best practices; share insights across the organization.
• Conduct A/B testing and other optimization techniques to boost open rates, click‑throughs, and engagement.
• Manage email list operations, including unsubscribes, suppression updates, and list accuracy.
• Partner with Business Intelligence to define KPIs, develop segmentation strategies, and create performance reporting.
• Lead a full‑time email production team, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and efficient workflows.
• Maintain the master email calendar and coordinate stakeholder priorities.
• Oversee the relationship with the email service provider, handling budgeting, invoicing, and platform updates.
