MEARL Internship – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research & Learning

About the role

The MEARL Intern will support Save the Children’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research and Learning (MEARL) unit and the Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) department in Kenya. This internship offers hands‑on experience in data management, analysis, and knowledge sharing within a humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for the PRIME information management system, ensuring timely data entry and regular updates.
• Manage the country office humanitarian output tracker and produce monthly data analyses for programme staff.
• Maintain and analyse the accountability database, providing regular insights to inform programming decisions.
• Support monthly analysis of accountability data and share findings with senior management.
• Assist with knowledge management by updating and disseminating capability statements, communication materials, and reference documents on SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate programme (e.g., International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences).
• Strong interest in monitoring, evaluation, research, and humanitarian programming.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Experience with the PRIME information management system (or similar data platforms).
• Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams.
