Middle School Tutor – Upper Manhattan & The Bronx

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking enthusiastic Middle School Tutors to provide one‑on‑one, in‑home academic support for students in grades 6‑8 across Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. Tutors will help learners build strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics and other core subjects while fostering confidence and effective study habits.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized tutoring sessions at students’ homes.
• Support foundational skills in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and additional middle‑school subjects.
• Assist with homework completion, study strategies, and organizational skills.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student’s needs and goals.
• Monitor progress and communicate regularly with families.
• Create a positive, engaging, and encouraging learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree or teaching certification preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring middle‑school students.
• Strong understanding of middle‑school curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation for in‑person assignments.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
