Playhouse Attendant – Morning Shift

About the role

The Playhouse Attendant creates a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children in the YMCA playhouse. Working mornings and occasional weekends, you will supervise children, lead age‑appropriate activities, and keep the area clean and organized.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times and conduct regular headcounts.
• Ensure safety by following YMCA policies and responding to emergencies.
• Plan and lead games, arts‑and‑crafts, storytelling, and educational programs.
• Encourage positive social interaction and adapt activities to children’s interests.
• Greet families warmly, communicate any concerns, and provide feedback to the Youth Programs Coordinator.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized playhouse; restock supplies and report needs.
• Keep accurate attendance records and report incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and rotating weekends.
• Previous experience with children in daycare, preschool, camp, or similar settings.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
