Recovery Officer

About the role

The Recovery Officer will be responsible for alerting, following up, and recovering defaulted loans. This role involves conducting site visits, coordinating with local authorities, and managing overdue accounts to ensure timely repayment and support Inkomoko’s mission of empowering entrepreneurs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the credit portfolio and assess risk of potential defaults.
• Identify and escalate repayment irregularities for management action.
• Prepare monthly and weekly portfolio reports for decision‑making and credit review meetings.
• Compute weekly PAR reports and analyse product performance.
• Maintain an effective trigger reporting system for credit impairments and propose corrective actions.
• Support loan officers, loan managers, and compliance officers on non‑performing loans.
• Contact, visit, and send reminders to borrowers about scheduled repayments.
• Conduct post‑disbursement spot checks to verify loan utilization.
• Monitor defaulter repayments to prevent recurrent non‑compliance.
• Ensure PAR levels comply with Central Bank of Kenya regulations.
• Coordinate with the Finance department to reconcile payments.
• Manually settle overdue accounts, block accounts of delinquent clients, and resolve issues with defaulted borrowers.
