Sales Manager – Luxury Safari

About the role

The Sales Manager will support the Senior Sales & Marketing Manager in driving sales for a luxury safari lodge. Based in Nairobi, the role focuses on maintaining agent relationships, coordinating with reservations and operations, and expanding market presence across regional and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in executing the annual sales strategy and respond to agent inquiries.
• Prepare quotations, manage lead follow‑up and maintain agent/client databases, rate sheets and contact lists.
• Coordinate distribution of marketing materials, rate updates and special offers.
• Monitor and verify bookings in Opera Cloud, liaise with the Reservations Manager and support manual reservation entries during peak periods.
• Manage allocations, block bookings and track conversion rates.
• Communicate with travel agents and DMCs, track agent productivity and organise familiarisation trips, site inspections and trade visits.
• Compile weekly and monthly sales reports on booking trends, source markets, agent performance and conversion metrics.
• Support the outsourced marketing agency, monitor social media mentions and assist in gathering content for promotions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Sales, Hospitality, Tourism, Business or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in sales, reservations or guest services within the hospitality sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, detail‑oriented and highly organized.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Opera Cloud PMS or similar reservation systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with CRM systems.
