Senior Lead – Internal Auditor, Global Assurance (Africa/Europe)

About the role

International Justice Mission is seeking a Senior Lead Internal Auditor for its Global Assurance function, covering offices in Africa and Europe. The role will lead the annual audit plan, provide assurance on compliance and financial operations, and drive process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the annual audit plan with a focus on risk prioritization and efficiency.
• Conduct detailed financial and operational audits ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and IJM policies.
• Utilize data analytics to assess financial trends, operational risks, and control effectiveness.
• Review financial records for compliance with US GAAP, local accounting standards, and external statutory requirements.
• Identify and assess risks associated with financial operations, compliance, and business processes.
• Evaluate internal controls and operational effectiveness, recommending best practices.
• Assess finance team structures and responsibilities for alignment with organizational objectives.
• Examine sub‑award and partner onboarding, financial monitoring, and compliance frameworks.

Required profile

• Significant experience in internal audit and financial assurance within a multinational or non‑profit environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, local accounting standards, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to lead audit teams and manage complex audit projects.
• Work authorization for Ghana, Uganda or Kenya (no sponsorship provided).
