Senior Research Manager

About the role

PxD is seeking a dynamic Senior Research Manager to lead a portfolio of digital agriculture projects across Africa. Based in Nairobi (or Addis Ababa), you will bridge research and service delivery, ensuring evidence informs program design, implementation, and policy engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify learning objectives with stakeholders and manage research activities, adhering to rigor, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborate with research and service delivery leaders to design, pilot, and scale evidence‑backed digital agriculture services.
• Interpret internal and external evidence, translating insights into operational improvements.
• Guide teams on evidence‑based approaches and maintain technical standards.
• Oversee data management, analysis, survey creation, A/B testing, and documentation of research outcomes.
• Develop frameworks to capture program insights and manage partner relationships.

Required profile

• Proactive self‑starter with strong research management experience.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government and NGOs.
• Experience in designing, testing, and scaling digital solutions for smallholder farmers.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
