Temporary Support Assistant – Program (Advocacy)

About the role

Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a motivated Temporary Support Assistant to join its advocacy team. This short‑term position offers hands‑on experience in humanitarian advocacy, policy research, and digital campaigning, supporting efforts across the Horn of Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Regional Advocacy Specialist in planning, developing, and implementing advocacy activities and campaigns.
• Research policy issues, monitor humanitarian landscapes, and contribute to analysis reports.
• Support the creation of multimedia packages, toolkits, and social‑media content.
• Help organise webinars, trainings, workshops and other events, handling logistics and participant coordination.
• Maintain external communication channels, including the website, social‑media platforms, and monthly newsletters.
• Ensure all advocacy products comply with branding and donor guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong interest in humanitarian issues and advocacy work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and meet deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented with good organizational abilities.
