Transportation Program Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Transportation Program Manager to lead all freight movement for a critical U.S. Navy program based on Diego Garcia. The role oversees land, sea, and air logistics, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple transportation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Transportation, Material Handling Equipment, Movement Control, Arrival/Departure Airfield Control, Container Management, and Motor Pool Operations.
• Collaborate with project and construction teams to develop transportation plans, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain effective communication throughout the transportation organization.
• Allocate on‑hand personnel and assets to meet surge, demobilization, and operational needs.
• Develop and train personnel on logistics processes as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum eight (8) years of military transportation experience, including at least two (2) years in an OCONUS/combat‑zone management role.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity), ability to pass contract medical requirements, and ability to obtain necessary facility credentials and visas.
• Valid driver’s license for the host country.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Technical experience interpreting and using military transportation automated systems.
• Experience with civilian transportation management tools.
• Knowledge of cargo tracking systems.
