Accountant – Logistics Finance

About the role

Phoenix Logistics Consultancy FZ-LLC is expanding its operations in Kenya and seeks a detail‑oriented Accountant to support the Nairobi team. The role involves managing day‑to‑day financial activities in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting reports.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Perform monthly bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
• Prepare statutory reports and assist with tax compliance.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Provide financial insights to aid business decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or supply‑chain.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory compliance.
• Professional qualification such as CPA (K) or ACCA is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
