AI Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an AI Engineer to join African Leadership X in Nairobi. You will be responsible for taking AI prototypes from demo to production, building reliable agent architectures, and embedding rigorous testing and evaluation into the development process.

Key responsibilities

• Production AI Products: own AI products in production, ensure stability, observability, and catch regressions via evaluations before learners encounter issues.
• Agent Architecture & Context Engineering: design context and tooling architecture for agents, build and maintain service interfaces, and keep long‑running multi‑step agents reliable under real‑world learner behavior.
• Testing & Evaluation: embed evaluation loops, regression checks, and fast iteration into the development workflow as a default practice.

Required skills

• Strong production‑grade experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Hands‑on experience shipping at least one AI/LLM application.
• Fluency with agent frameworks such as LangGraph and context engineering.
• Testing discipline with evaluation loops and regression checks.
• Desirable: React, full‑stack development, Langfuse or similar observability tools, knowledge graphs.
