Anti-Racism Intern

About the role
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a motivated Anti‑Racism Intern to support its anti‑racism task‑force. This six‑month, unpaid internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global sustainable urban development while helping to shape UN‑wide anti‑racism policies.
Key responsibilities
- Support UN‑Habitat Anti‑Racism Advocates in daily activities.
- Conduct research and analysis of UN policies related to discrimination and racism.
- Assist in interpreting and applying the Secretary‑General’s strategic action plan on racism.
- Draft and review policy documents, briefing notes, reports and correspondence.
- Provide logistical support for trainings, events and meetings, including note‑taking and summary preparation.
- Maintain a library of learning resources and reference materials.
- Design, administer and follow‑up on surveys measuring racism and discrimination.
- Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a graduate programme (or final year of an undergraduate programme) at the time of application.
- Strong interest in anti‑racism, policy research and sustainable urban development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
