About the role
The Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi is offering a twelve‑month Applications Development Trainee Programme as part of its Aspire Future Leaders initiative. This fast‑track rotation immerses recent graduates in real‑world software projects, providing hands‑on experience across the full software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and enhancement of in‑house software applications.
- Provide first‑line support for business applications, responding to user queries and troubleshooting incidents.
- Assist in gathering business requirements, analysing user needs, and recommending technology‑driven process improvements.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, user guides, system specifications, and process workflows.
- Gain exposure to system integration projects, helping develop, test, and maintain APIs and data exchange processes.
- Help ensure system reliability through backup management, recovery procedures, data integrity checks, and business continuity activities.
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives aimed at automating processes and enhancing system capabilities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Library & Information Science or a related field.
- Kenyan nationality (program invites applicants from Kenya).
- Strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
