Area Collections Executive (Reliever) – LPG

About the role

The Area Collections Executive (Reliever) – LPG will join Sun King’s field finance team in Nairobi, supporting the recovery of unpaid LPG product loans and ensuring smooth customer transitions. This role combines on‑the‑ground repossession work with client relationship management to protect company assets while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute default resolution by conducting repossessions, recovering products, and delivering them to the depot.
• Contact allocated accounts to negotiate payment solutions and drive portfolio recovery.
• Verify client relocation requests, coordinate account transfers, and manage closures for out‑of‑area customers.
• Handle urgent uninstallation requests, coordinating field teams and escalating exceptional cases.
• Report fraud, misconduct, and product tampering, documenting findings for the Risk Manager.
• Resolve repossession disputes, review Energy Officer compliance, and arrange repayment plans.
• Investigate and mediate conflicts between clients and Energy Officers, escalating serious matters.
• Manage stolen product reports, verify incidents, and coordinate recovery efforts.
• Review repayment concerns and cookstove replacement requests, checking account histories.
• Clarify contractual terms, ownership transfers, and resolve related disputes.
• Provide verified client location and ID details to Energy Officers for visits, respecting data‑protection policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in collections or credit management.
• Experience in micro‑finance, banking, fintech or PAY‑GO environments (advantage).
• Ability to ride a motorbike for field assignments.
• Strong people skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capability.
• Experience in fraud detection, investigation and dispute resolution.
• Good communication, presentation, and planning abilities.
• Previous field collections experience is a plus.
