Assistant Human Resource Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Human Resource Manager to support the HR department of Radisson Hotel Group in Nairobi. The role focuses on fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting employee development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the smooth operation of the HR department, managing all areas of responsibility to high standards.
• Review employee development, training and succession plans, providing recommendations to enhance performance.
• Compile operational staffing schedules and coordinate with the HR manager.
• Ensure compliance with regional and corporate regulations and talent guidelines.
• Maintain up‑to‑date job descriptions in coordination with supervisors.
• Handle job application correspondence, advertising, filing and documentation.
• Initiate and follow up on yearly performance evaluations for supervisory staff.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably as an assistant HR manager or HR officer.
• Professional HR certification and a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, leadership skills and a hands‑on, lead‑by‑example work style.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Personal integrity, creativity, proactivity and the ability to prioritize and make effective decisions.
