Aviation Calibration Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Aviation Calibration Technician to perform repair and replacement tasks on aircraft components, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role supports high safety standards and maintains scheduling integrity for Kenya Airways.

Key responsibilities

• Execute calibration, repair, and replacement of aviation instruments (mechanical, electrical, pressure, torque, temperature).
• Maintain traceability to national and international standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
• Log calibration data accurately and manage calibration masters and reference standards.
• Identify out‑of‑tolerance tools, initiate corrective actions, and label/control calibrated tools per tool‑control policies.
• Utilise ERP or calibration management software to track calibration activities and generate reports.
• Interpret technical manuals, calibration procedures, and engineering specifications.

Required profile

• Diploma in Applied Sciences, Metrology, Aircraft Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a busy ISO/IEC 17025 calibration laboratory supporting aviation maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of aviation maintenance regulations (EASA, FAA, MIL‑SPEC) and quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Demonstrated attention to detail, risk awareness and compliance with safety and hazardous‑material protocols.

• Metrology principles and measurement uncertainty.
• ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS9100 quality standards.
• EASA/FAA Part 145 regulatory training.
• ERP systems or calibration management software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering specs.
