Business Coordinator

About the role

The Business Coordinator will join the Production and Business Management Team at BBC News, supporting the delivery of world‑beating journalism across the East Africa hub. Working in a hybrid setting, the role combines budget monitoring, administrative support and logistical coordination for editorial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Business Advisor in tracking allocated budget, headcount and related activities for the assigned region.
• Process payment requests through local finance teams or central payment systems.
• Manage onboarding and off‑boarding of staff and freelancers, raise IT support tickets, arrange production bookings and equipment hire.
• Compile Management Information (MI) reports on deployment spend, staff movement, absence and other metrics using prescribed trackers and templates.
• Provide logistical support for programme deployments, issuing necessary paperwork.
• Offer guidance on policy compliance in collaboration with the Executive Bureau Manager and divisional specialists.
• Support strategic transformation projects and ad‑hoc business activities as required.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience providing administrative support within an international organisation.
• Legal right to work in Kenya.
• Ability to work 2‑3 days per week on‑site in a hybrid arrangement.
