Business Development and Grants Manager

About the role

Trōcaire is seeking a Business Development and Grants Manager to lead the expansion and diversification of funding for its programmes in Somalia. Reporting to the Country Director and sitting on the Senior Management Team, the role will shape funding strategies, raise the organisation’s profile with donors and oversee the design and submission of grant proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and annually update the country institutional funding strategy and action plan in line with organisational goals.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of potential donors and keep the team informed of donor priorities, calls and application requirements.
• Lead the design, budgeting and submission of high‑quality project proposals to institutional donors.
• Collaborate closely with the Global Partnerships and Funding Unit at Head Office to meet organisational targets.
• Manage a Grants and Compliance Officer, providing guidance and oversight on grant implementation and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, fundraising or grant management within an international NGO or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of donor landscapes, especially in the humanitarian and development sectors.
• Ability to work strategically with senior leadership and coordinate across programme teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
