Civil/Structural Quality Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and technically skilled civil and structural Quality Control Engineer responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards. The role focuses on inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination to guarantee that civil and structural works are executed to the highest quality standards and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the project Quality Management System (QMS) in line with company and international standards, review and approve method statements, inspection test plans and material submittals, and monitor construction activities for compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections of civil and structural works—including earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, formwork, structural steel, finishing and landscaping—and coordinate laboratory and field testing such as concrete cube and soil compaction tests.
• Prepare and maintain quality records, including inspection reports, non‑conformance reports, corrective and preventive action reports, track and close NCRs, and produce periodic quality reports for management review.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 10 years total engineering experience, with a minimum of 7 years in structural engineering, including reinforced‑concrete residential and multi‑storey buildings.
• Experience with foundations, engineered fill, retaining structures, reinforced‑concrete frames, construction‑stage inspection and certification, and Kenyan construction regulations and statutory approval procedures.
• Proven experience dealing with County Government, NCA and other relevant authorities; experience in phased or partial completion and occupation of developments is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Quality Management System (QMS) implementation (ISO 9001).
• Development and review of Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and method statements.
• Concrete cube testing and soil compaction testing.
• Preparation of inspection reports, non‑conformance reports (NCR) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) documentation.
