About the role
The Client Operations Manager owns the site‑facing cargo receipt process, ensuring inbound trucks and loads meet access and safety rules, and that goods are inspected, documented and moved to the correct storage or operational location. The role coordinates closely with clients, warehouse, control tower and QHSE teams to guarantee safe, accurate and fast off‑loading. It also provides daily records and performance visibility to support reliable project logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Reconcile transport paperwork with actual shipments, confirming counts, descriptions and delivery details before acceptance.
- Inspect goods for visible damage, packaging integrity, label accuracy and correct quantity; flag shortages, damages or mismatches.
- Log, tag and move accepted items to the appropriate storage or work area, keeping physical and system records aligned.
- Vet every truck at the gate against site entry and operating rules, including vehicle condition, load restraint and cargo stability.
- Ensure drivers and transport crews follow PPE and site safety procedures, reporting hazards, non‑conformities, near‑misses and incidents.
- Sequence inbound truck slots and unloading work with clients, warehouse personnel, operations teams, the Control Tower and Track & Trace colleagues.
- Oversee unloading activity, escalating holdups, yard congestion and bottlenecks, and maintain daily records of truck movements and site activity.
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly receiving reports, file delivery notes, inspection sheets and discrepancy reports in an audit‑ready state.
Required profile
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, transport management, warehousing or a comparable discipline.
- At least two to three years of experience in cargo receiving, warehousing, logistics or transport operations.
- A logistics or supply chain management certificate is beneficial.
- Exposure to oil and gas, industrial logistics or project cargo operations is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail for inspecting loads, verifying documentation and reporting discrepancies.
- Ability to coordinate across client representatives, warehouse staff, operations teams and HSE colleagues in a site environment.
