Communications & Multimedia Intern

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Kenya is seeking a Communications and Multimedia Intern to support its storytelling efforts. The intern will help convey how the Sustainable Development Goals and UN initiatives align with Kenya's development priorities through engaging video content.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop story ideas that illustrate the impact of UN work on everyday life in Kenya.
• Prepare briefs, interview questions, scripts, shot lists and storyboards for short videos, interviews, event highlights and human‑interest features.
• Film interviews, events and supporting footage using camera, audio, lighting and mobile production equipment.
• Edit footage for web and social media in various formats, adding subtitles, captions, graphics, transitions, music and sound design.
• Collaborate with the Communications, Advocacy and Coordination Officer and other UN communication teams, ensuring all content meets UN branding, accessibility and editorial standards.

• Enthusiastic about multimedia storytelling and the UN development agenda.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to receive editorial feedback.
