Communications & Multimedia Intern – Video Production

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a creative and motivated Communications and Multimedia Intern to support video production for the Nairobi Convention. This 6‑month onsite internship in Nairobi will help tell the story of marine and coastal initiatives across the Western Indian Ocean through engaging multimedia content.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, research, scripting and storyboarding for video and multimedia campaigns.
• Film and edit video content, including interviews, event highlights, short documentaries and human‑interest stories.
• Produce short‑form multimedia tailored for Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook.
• Add subtitles, graphics, transitions, sound design and other visual elements to enhance accessibility and engagement.
• Assist in creating visual storytelling products that showcase programme results and partner engagement.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic intern with a strong interest in environmental communication.
• Ability to work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Nairobi Convention.
• Good organizational and research skills for content development.
