Communications Officer Trainee

About the role

The Agricultural Society of Kenya is seeking a Communications Officer Trainee to support its corporate communication, public relations, branding and digital engagement initiatives. This full‑time role will help raise the Society’s visibility and reputation while providing hands‑on experience in a non‑profit agricultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing corporate communication, PR, branding and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Prepare and disseminate press releases, speeches, newsletters, articles, brochures and digital content.
• Support the management and updating of the Society’s website, social media channels and email communication platforms.
• Contribute to media monitoring, analytics reporting and content creation using digital tools.
• Collaborate with the PR & Communications Manager on campaign planning and execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Internship, industrial attachment or relevant practical experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of corporate communication, media engagement, branding and digital communication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with good organisational abilities.
