Credit Control Officer

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Credit Control Officer to join our finance team in Nairobi. The role involves managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the company’s cash‑flow objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances.
• Follow up with customers on overdue payments through calls and reminders.
• Maintain accurate records of payments and debts.
• Reconcile customer accounts and identify discrepancies.
• Prepare regular credit control and collection reports.
• Allocate and record customer payments promptly.
• Collaborate with accounts and sales teams to resolve payment issues.
• Maintain professional relationships while pursuing collections.
• Escalate long‑overdue accounts to management when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to company credit control procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 12 months experience in credit control, debt collection or accounts receivable (advantageous).
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Honest, organized and dependable.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet collection targets.

• Competitive salary of KES 18,000 – 20,000 per month.
