Dispatch Officer

About the role

The Dispatch Officer will support U.S. freight operations from our Nairobi office, working during U.S. business hours. You will coordinate loads, negotiate rates, and ensure timely deliveries in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Source and book profitable freight using U.S. load boards such as DAT One and Truckstop.com.
• Negotiate rates with brokers and shippers and dispatch trucks to meet driver schedules.
• Monitor shipments, provide updates to customers and brokers, and resolve operational issues.
• Review and verify transportation documents (Rate Confirmations, BOLs, PODs) and maintain accurate records in the TMS.
• Collaborate with accounting to ensure complete load documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with freight brokers and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in U.S. truck dispatching or freight brokerage.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service and ELDs.
• Ability to work independently during 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EAT.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DAT One and Truckstop.com load boards.
• Experience using TMS platforms such as Rose Rocket, McLeod, Samsara or ITS Dispatch.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and Excel.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
