Dog Master

About the role

The Dog Master will lead the security canine unit, overseeing both dogs and their handlers to ensure effective deployment in protection operations. Reporting to the Area Manager, the role is based in the Westlands area of Nairobi and requires strong leadership and hands‑on involvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule dog handlers for security missions, ensuring optimal coverage.
• Deploy security dogs to assigned locations and monitor their performance during operations.
• Coordinate training, feeding, and health care for all dogs in the unit.
• Maintain accurate records of dog activities, deployments, and handler performance.
• Conduct performance evaluations for both dogs and handlers.
• Enforce company SOPs and regulatory compliance within the canine section.
• Keep an up‑to‑date inventory of all equipment, supplies, and dogs.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in a similar canine security position.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Physically fit to handle active field duties.
• Knowledge of dog training, care, and basic veterinary principles.

• Proven experience in handling and managing security dogs.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
• Integrity and adherence to security protocols.
