Drupal Developer

About the role

Abacus is seeking an experienced Drupal Developer with 3‑4 years of hands‑on experience to develop, customize, and maintain Drupal‑based websites and web applications. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, high‑performing solutions using Drupal 10 and Drupal 11 while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain websites and web applications using Drupal 10 and Drupal 11.
• Design and build custom Drupal modules based on business and technical requirements.
• Create and customize Drupal themes using Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
• Configure content types, fields, views, taxonomies, menus, blocks, workflows, media, and user roles.
• Implement Drupal hooks, plugins, services, controllers, forms, entities, events, and dependency injection.
• Integrate Drupal with third‑party applications via REST APIs, JSON:API, SOAP, and other web services.
• Maintain secure custom APIs and integration endpoints.
• Perform core, module, and security updates and version upgrades.
• Support migration projects from legacy Drupal versions or other CMS platforms.
• Manage configuration using Drupal’s export/import and environment‑specific settings.
• Utilize Composer for dependency management and Drush for administration and deployment.
• Troubleshoot PHP errors, database issues, integration failures, and configuration problems.
• Optimize performance through caching, database tuning, image optimization, and code enhancements.
• Implement Drupal security best practices and secure coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to Drupal coding standards.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, backend developers, QA engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
