About the role
The Ecosystem Lead Education Sector will drive KCB Group’s strategy for the learning‑institution ecosystem, creating financial solutions that meet the needs of schools, universities and related bodies. Reporting to the strategy office, the role combines market intelligence, product development and stakeholder engagement to grow the bank’s presence in the education sector.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and share market ecosystem trends and competitive analysis with the strategy office and business units, building a unified intelligence database.
- Develop and execute a sector‑specific strategy, identifying financial solution opportunities that align with education ecosystem needs.
- Create sector‑specific Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) for learning institutions to be adopted by corporate and retail divisions.
- Engage government agencies, universities, public and private school associations, and regulatory bodies to deepen KCB’s market position.
- Drive revenue growth by increasing lending, deposits and transaction volumes for learning institutions through tailored products.
- Implement credit structures and risk‑mitigation tools such as trade credit insurance and institutional guarantees.
- Collaborate with product and IT teams to design digital financing solutions (e.g., ERPs, embedded finance, payment gateways).
- Coordinate with multiple business units for a unified sales approach and bundled service offerings.
- Identify new business opportunities within the education value chain and prospect new clients.
Required profile
- Minimum of 7 years (84 months) of relevant experience in banking, financial services or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience working with education institutions and understanding of their financial needs.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan regulatory environment and ability to engage with government and regulatory bodies.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sector‑specific strategies and value propositions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
