Engineering Apprentice Technician Program

About the role

The Engineering Apprentice Technician Program offers a structured pathway into aircraft maintenance engineering within Kenya Airways. Participants will attend foundational courses, pass internal examinations and work towards a basic KCAA licence (without type rating) while gaining hands‑on experience on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Attend induction, mandatory and basic aircraft maintenance courses.
• Pass company examinations and prepare for KCAA licence assessments.
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks on‑the‑job (OJT) under supervision.
• Collaborate with experienced engineering teams throughout the training cycle.
• Participate in networking events and additional activities that support professional growth.

Required profile

• Aeronautical or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Diploma, HND or equivalent.
• KCSE (or equivalent) with at least a C+ in Mathematics, English and Physics.
• Proof of attachment during training.
• 2‑3 years of practical aircraft maintenance experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KCARs (Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations).
• Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals.
• Good knowledge of aircraft systems.
