Field Collection Officer

About the role

The Field Collection Officer will manage a portfolio of clients across multiple regions in Kenya, ensuring timely repayment of loans and maintaining strong relationships. This role involves regular field visits, client follow‑up, and proactive risk monitoring to support the company's financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor an assigned client portfolio, tracking overdue accounts and prioritising actions based on risk.
• Conduct regular field visits to clients’ homes and businesses for payment follow‑ups and locate unresponsive clients.
• Make timely calls, send SMS reminders and issue payment notices before and after due dates.
• Negotiate repayment plans, collect full or partial payments, and escalate difficult cases.
• Identify early warning signs of default, report high‑risk or potentially fraudulent accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, payments and field visits; submit daily and weekly performance reports.
• Adhere to company policies, ensure ethical collection practices and safeguard collected funds.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in any field (business‑related degree is an advantage).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in collections, credit control or a similar role.
• Valid A2 driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across assigned regions.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines and targets.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with mobile reporting tools.

What we offer

• Monthly salary of KSH 15,300 plus an additional KSH 15,300 allowance during the probation period.
