Finance Assistant Internship – Accounting Support

About the role

Cytonn Asset Managers Limited is seeking a Finance Assistant Intern to support its finance and administrative functions in Nairobi. The three‑month program offers hands‑on experience in accounting, treasury, and office administration within a fast‑paced investment firm.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable by preparing payments and verifying invoices.
• Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
• Support treasury activities, including tracking daily and monthly cash movements.
• Help with accounts receivable monitoring and billing follow‑up.
• Enter and reconcile transactions in the accounting system.
• Assist in compliance tasks such as filing statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, VAT).
• Contribute to monthly financial reporting and audit documentation.
• Provide basic financial and administrative support to the business development team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Progress towards professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good organizational, time‑management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting software or financial systems.
