Finance Manager – Kenya

About the role

M‑KOPA Kenya is seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to own the financial management of its fast‑growing asset‑financing business. You will lead monthly reporting, IFRS compliance, treasury, and commercial analysis for the Kenya entity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly close including accruals, pre‑payments, inter‑company, depreciation and FX.
• Prepare the monthly management reporting pack with executive commentary and variance analysis.
• Maintain and enhance the IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss model and oversee provisioning and bad‑debt trends.
• Monitor loan‑book performance, analyse repayment behaviour by cohort and support statutory/regulatory reporting.
• Partner with commercial teams to model unit economics, assess pricing, and build financial cases for new product launches.
• Identify automation opportunities, strengthen internal controls and ensure IFRS compliance across the finance function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance leadership within a high‑growth, lending or fintech environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial results to board and commercial partners.
