Financial Controller – Nairobi

About the role

Marriott International is looking for a senior hospitality finance professional to lead the financial function of its Nairobi property. The Financial Controller will act as the strategic financial business leader, driving profitability and ensuring compliance with brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial data and market trends, forecast sales versus expenses, and develop annual budget plans to improve profit and operational efficiency.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, communicating strategic goals, assigning accountability and fostering a high-performance culture.
• Prepare accurate Profit & Loss statements, submit timely financial reports and review audit results to support property strategies.
• Oversee tax compliance, internal, external and regulatory audits, and ensure adherence to SOPs and LSOPs.
• Advise the General Manager and executive committee on financial matters, meet owner ROI expectations and present financial results at owner meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar financial controller role.
• Previous experience in luxury hospitality finance is mandatory.
