Fitness Instructor for US Navy Program

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Fitness Instructor to join Amentum’s US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves delivering group exercise classes, supporting patrons in the MWR fitness facilities and promoting a safe, welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily group fitness classes using safe, effective techniques.
• Motivate participants of all fitness levels and foster an inclusive atmosphere.
• Provide equipment orientation and demonstrate proper exercise form.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of fitness areas, reporting any maintenance needs.
• Enforce facility policies, safety procedures and MWR regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service, answering questions and resolving concerns.
• Select music and design engaging class routines aligned with fitness objectives.
• Respond to medical emergencies and administer CPR/AED when required.
• Assist with special events, challenges and recreational programs as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of fitness, recreation or wellness experience (preferred).
• One year of group fitness instruction experience (preferred).
• Current nationally or internationally recognized fitness instructor certification.
• Current CPR and AED certification (American Red Cross, AHA or equivalent).
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and maintain compliance.

Required skills

• Fitness instruction and class choreography.
• Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and equipment use.
• CPR and AED emergency response.
