General Nurse – Full‑Time Position

About the role

St. Luke's Orthopaedic & Trauma Hospital in Nairobi is looking for qualified General Nurses to join its busy Level 4/5 facility. This full‑time, on‑site position involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, supporting both acute and post‑operative services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, complete healthcare reports and patient records.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and reactions.
• Record vital signs, monitor progress, and report changes in patient condition.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests in liaison with doctors.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor diet, physical activity, and overall patient wellbeing.
• Provide emergency treatment for heart attacks, strokes, accidents, burns, and post‑operative recovery.
• Conduct community health activities and minor theatre procedures within licensing limits.
• Bill patients for services and ensure medical equipment is functional.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nurse (KRN).
• Valid practicing license.
• Minimum five (5) years continuous nursing experience in a busy Level 4 or Level 5 hospital.
• Excellent customer care, communication and public relations abilities.
• Professional and friendly attitude.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
