About the role

Sky Bistro is looking for a dynamic Head Chef to lead its kitchen team in Nairobi. The role involves creating innovative seasonal menus, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and hygiene in a fast‑paced fine‑dining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and schedule the kitchen brigade, including sous chefs, line cooks and stewards.
• Design and execute seasonal menus that blend local and continental flavours.
• Control food costing, manage inventory, negotiate with suppliers and monitor the kitchen budget.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and presentation standards.
• Introduce contemporary culinary techniques and creative plating.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts and a valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Minimum five years of experience in fine‑dining or luxury restaurant settings.
• Proven expertise in both Kenyan and international cuisines.
• Strong leadership, organisational and team‑building abilities.
