Head Chef

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations in Westlands, Kenya. The successful candidate will oversee daily food preparation, ensure high standards of quality and safety, and drive menu innovation to delight our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all kitchen staff, managing breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events.
• Plan, develop and regularly update menus, creating innovative dishes across local, continental and international cuisines.
• Maintain food quality, hygiene and safety compliance, monitoring storage, handling and sanitation procedures.
• Train, mentor and evaluate kitchen personnel, fostering teamwork and professionalism.
• Control inventory, procure supplies, minimize waste and support budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure excellent customer experience by handling special dietary requests and responding to feedback.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Food Production or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as Head Chef, Sous Chef or similar senior kitchen role.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and cost management.
