Head of Kindergarten

About the role

Rose of Sharon Academy is seeking a dynamic Head of Kindergarten to lead and further develop its Early Years Programme. The role involves overseeing the education of children aged 2‑6, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences, and facilitating smooth transitions to primary school.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership and mentorship to kindergarten teachers.
• Design, implement and evaluate the curriculum aligned with Cambridge International and Competency‑Based Education pathways.
• Plan and oversee assessment strategies to monitor child development and learning outcomes.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote partnership and communication.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the kindergarten, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Lead the transition process for learners moving from kindergarten to primary school.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Education (or related) and TSC registration.
• Certification in Cambridge International Early Years or CBC; Master’s degree in Education or Educational Leadership is an advantage.
• Minimum eight years of teaching experience in early years education, with at least three years in a school leadership role.
• Experience in a high‑performing academic environment.
• Personal attributes: nurturing, firm, professional, high integrity, innovative, proactive and passionate about early years education.
