Head, Product Control & Accounting

About the role

Moniepoint is seeking a senior leader to own the accounting and control function for its product portfolio. The role sits at the intersection of Finance and Product & Technology, ensuring that every new product, feature or pricing change is correctly designed from an accounting perspective before launch.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical accounting partner for Product and Engineering on all new initiatives.
• Write accounting memos and position papers covering IFRS 15 revenue recognition, IFRS 9 financial instrument classification and fee vs interest income treatment.
• Design, build and maintain a consistent chart of accounts across products and entities.
• Map the full customer journey to the appropriate GL treatment and oversee end‑to‑end reconciliation.
• Review product specifications pre‑launch, flagging accounting and control gaps.
• Develop and document controls such as maker‑checker, reconciliation and exception handling for audit purposes.
• Maintain a living library of product accounting documentation and support internal and external audit queries.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA qualification with at least 8 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with Big 4 technical accounting or audit exposure.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 15, IFRS 9 and broader IFRS standards.
• Proven ability to translate product designs into accounting treatments and GL structures.
• Experience working closely with engineers and product managers in an agile environment.
