Head Trainer (For IT Managed Services)

About the role

We are seeking a Head Trainer to lead the design and delivery of training programmes for our IT Managed Services portfolio. The role will support both client‑facing workshops and internal upskilling, ensuring the curriculum stays current with cloud and telephony innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, curate and scale a comprehensive training curriculum aligned with product updates, including cloud migration and hosted telephony services.
• Facilitate expert‑level virtual and in‑person corporate workshops, with a strong focus on cybersecurity awareness and compliance with Kenya’s Data Protection Act.
• Conduct detailed training needs analyses and skills‑gap assessments for complex client networks prior to deployment.
• Oversee internal and client‑facing Learning Management Systems, keeping modules modern, gamified and metric‑driven.
• Lead technical training and certification roadmaps for engineering and support desk teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior IT trainers, reviewing instructional design materials and providing performance feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software training, IT consulting or a Managed Service Provider environment.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), CompTIA CTT+, CEH, CCNA or AWS/Azure credentials.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of adult learning theories and corporate presentation techniques.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud migration, hosted telephony, cybersecurity concepts and Learning Management Systems.
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, CEH, CCNA and related certification frameworks.
