About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Home Chef to join a private household in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will prepare fresh, healthy, and enjoyable meals tailored to the client’s dietary needs and preferences, ensuring high standards of nutrition, taste, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily balanced meals for the client, adapting recipes to specific nutritional or dietary requirements.
• Develop weekly meal plans based on health goals, preferences, and any medical recommendations.
• Introduce variety by experimenting with different cuisines, ingredients, flavours, and cooking styles.
• Prepare occasional meals for household members and visitors.
• Create grocery lists, support ingredient purchasing, and manage kitchen stock to minimise waste.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety, including proper storage and labeling.
• Prepare meals in advance when required and ensure appropriate storage.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism within the private household.

Required profile

• Certificate, diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality, Nutrition, Dietetics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in a private household, hotel, restaurant or wellness setting.
• Strong ability to create healthy, balanced meals and knowledge of nutrition or specialised diets.
• Valid food handler’s certificate preferred.
• Organised, trustworthy, discreet and able to adapt meals based on feedback.
