Human Resource Officer

About the role

The Human Resource Officer will support the effective management of HR functions at Victoria Homes, ensuring policies are applied, employee processes run smoothly, and compliance with Kenyan employment law is maintained. Reporting to the HR Manager, the role acts as a bridge between staff and management, fostering an employee‑centric workplace aligned with the company’s EPIC values.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update organisational work structures, job descriptions and specifications.
• Coordinate the performance management system, including goal setting, KPI tracking, appraisal scheduling and follow‑up on improvement plans.
• Provide guidance to managers on performance coaching, disciplinary actions and documentation.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment: post vacancies, shortlist candidates, schedule interviews, conduct reference checks and prepare employment contracts.
• Organise orientation and onboarding programmes for new hires.
• Plan and coordinate training sessions, maintain the annual training calendar and track employee development activities.

Required profile

• Mid‑level HR professional with at least 24 months of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to support both employees and managers.
• Proven ability to manage multiple HR processes simultaneously and meet deadlines.
